As you can see Nike has more interest than Adidas from people in the last 5 years. Adidas interest gets closer to Nike as time goes on. The spike in the graph on September 2th to the 8th is due to the Nike campaign involving former NFL quarterback, Colin Kaepernick which sparked political arguments on if it is good idea for Nike to be advertising their products with such a contreversial political figure. Colin Kaepernick being a contreversial politicla This outbreak caused much interest which then caused a great amount of people to search Nike into Google as shown in the graph. The other spikes in the graph is due to Christmas shopping. People want to buy Nike products for Christmas gifts so they search Nike into Google.
As you can see by the United States visual, Nike(blue) is dominating Adidas in the Unites States. Montana has the greastest ration from percentage of web searches, Nike-80% and Adidas-20%. The closest ration is Califorinia which is Nike-69% and Adidas-31%. This making California the most interested in Adidas in the United States.
The state of Oregon, where Nike was founded and is where their headquarters are has a web search ratio of Nike-77% and Adidas-23%. In the state of Oregon, the region of Eugene has the the largest ratio being Nike-79% and Adidas 21%. The region with the most interest for Adidas is ironically Portland is with a ration of Nike-76% and Adidas-24%. This bis odd because Nike headquarters is in Portland. The cause of this might be because Portland Trailblazers(NBA team) point guard Damian Lillard is endorsed by Adidas so people in Portland like him so they want to wear the same clothes and shoes as him.
